We are the only business in town center who are open 24hrs, who are there really all the time and pick up the phone no matter what. For that we need to drink a large amount of coffee

The favorite ever is the lovely light cappuccino with some Monin syrup in it, depends on being in vanilla, cinnamon,  caramel etc… mood.

Let’s see what we have here in town. strictly take away, since no time to sit apart from our cozy base.

Costa: Was a favourite for long time. This was the first place where we discovered the beautiful flavours. Lovely design, nice atmosphere, professional looking barista. But  8 times out of 10 they make pretty shit cappuccino. The cappuccino has to be very light. When you lift it up, you should not feel any weight. Costa barista in Maidenhead most of the time mess up the milk for some reason. We stopped going there every day, though it is very close to our office.

Cafe Republic : This is the place where we go only if we are desperate and do not have other option. The girls are always so miserable. No smile, frozen face muscles, frustrated, angry behaviour. They don’t know either how to make the milk for cappuccino. Very heavy hot drink you have to take away.

Puccino’s Coffee: If you do not want to risk the joy of your cappuccino (why would you, costs bloody £3) you have to go there. 10 out of 10 they give the best. Beautiful, light, professional. The staff is not always bubly-jubly, but the quality of the coffee compensate it. Though personally I do not like the design. Very depressive to me.

Wetherspoon – The Greyhound Pub: This is only 10 steps away from our office. 6 times out of 10 they serve nice cappuccino. But they do not have any flavours

Nightmare of new Mercury PDAs

We have been scrolling around Berkshire roads with the help of Mercury for quite a long now. When we decided to choose them, we got HTC PDAs. They were just perfect for us. Never broke any, never let us down at all, software was working fine. After a few years of every day use they got a little bit outworn. So we had to request new PDAs, for quite a large amount of money. Never mind, it is the air for our system, it is worth it. But….
The new PDAs (GIGABYTE GSMART) are a piece of shit, we are sorry to say that. Almost all of them are already broken, the software freezes regulary on most of them. Of course, the repair is a fortune, the effectiveness of these PDAs is zero.
However we already told Mercury we are not satisfied with the new PDAs at all because of the reasons above, the answer was: no complains about the PDAs so far. Which is very hard to believe. Please colleagues, if you have the same problem, write us at booking@ontimecar.co.uk.
I must say Mercury has made a big strategy mistake by choosing this pretty crap model to give it for this kind of usage. We are deeply considering changing our system, regarding the high cost of repearing the PDAs regularly, and facing with the annoying fact of the very low and week quality of the hardware.
We would love to hear opinion about other taxi companies, which software and hardware provider is the best you think.

Actualy Mercury does not seem overtaking the competition, it seems right now loosing the competition with us…
